About this tour
A full day on both sides of the Dardanelles: the Gallipoli battlefields and memorials in the morning, the layers of ancient Troy in the afternoon.

We cross the strait by ferry from Çanakkale to Eceabat and drive up into the peninsula, where the 1915 campaign was fought over a few kilometres of ridges. Your guide takes you through Anzac Cove, Lone Pine, the 57th Regiment Memorial and the summit of Chunuk Bair, telling the story from the Turkish, Australian, New Zealand and British sides. Lunch is in Eceabat before the ferry back. In the afternoon we drive south to Troy, where the remains of nine successive settlements lie one on top of another, and finish at the wooden horse by the entrance.

Your guide waits at the foot of the clock tower, a minute from the ferry pier, with a konuk sign. Please arrive 15 minutes early; the ferry does not wait.

Good to know
- The battlefields are also cemeteries and memorials; please dress and behave with that in mind.
- Around 18 March and 25 April the peninsula fills for the commemorations and some roads close, so the route changes on those days.
- Troy has little shade; bring a hat and water in summer.
