About this tour
An early-evening cruise up the Bosphorus to Rumeli Hisarı and back, timed so the sun goes down behind the old city on the return. Tea and fresh simit are served on deck.

The boat leaves Eminönü in the late afternoon and heads north along the European shore, past Dolmabahçe Palace and Ortaköy and under the first bridge to Rumeli Hisarı, the fortress Mehmed II built the year before the conquest of 1453. It then crosses to the Asian side and comes back past Beylerbeyi and Kuzguncuk, close enough to the yalı mansions to see into their boathouses. Departure is timed to the season so the return leg meets the sunset over the old city skyline. Your host explains what you pass in English and Turkish, and the tea keeps coming.

Your host waits at the pier gate with a konuk sign from 20 minutes before departure. Boarding closes 10 minutes before the boat leaves.
